Direct Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

Are you a passionate and experienced Direct Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant looking to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or acquired brain injuries? Our client is seeking dedicated Direct Support Workers to join their team in Bray, Ireland.

As a Direct Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting residents in their daily lives, enabling them to develop new skills, pursue their interests, and engage with their community. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver person-centered support, fostering residents’ growth and social inclusion.
  • Support residents in daily activities, including meal preparation, personal care, and household tasks.
  • Encourage community involvement and assist residents in participating in social and recreational activities.
  • Communicate with residents, families, and other professionals in a respectful and clear manner.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of residents, assisting with healthcare appointments and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
  • Manage household records and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.

 

Requirements:

  • Full FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a care environment.
  • A compassionate personality, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full driving licence (essential for this role).
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
