Are you a qualified Pharmacist looking for an exciting opportunity to work in Galway on a short term contract? We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team on a locum basis. If you have a BSc (Pharm)/M Pharm and are registered with the PSI, we want to hear from you! We have hospital pharmacy shifts available. We are currently seeking a dedicated pharmacist to join our client's hospital pharmacy team on a locum basis (covering 35 hours per week).
Role Overview: As a Locum Pharmacist working with Nuvo Healthcare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective provision of pharmaceutical services to our client's patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting clinical reviews of medication orders prescribed within the hospital and dispensing medications to both inpatients and outpatients in accordance with hospital medication policies.
- Providing clinical medication advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Contributing to the teaching and training of students and staff, as necessary.
- Offering pharmaceutical advice to medical staff on relevant issues as they arise within the Service.
- Participation in relevant committees, as required.
- Ensuring that the pharmaceutical service meets the needs of service users and professional staff adequately.
- Cultivating positive working relationships with colleagues within the Service.
- Maintaining high standards of work performance, appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Upholding strict confidentiality standards in all aspects of work.
- Undertaking any additional duties as assigned.
- Participating in weekend rota shifts.
- Optionally participating in the chemotherapy service provided by the pharmacy department, including compounding, clinical checking, dispensing, stock management, billing, and any related tasks.
Essential Requirements:
- BSc (Pharm)/M Pharm & registration with the PSI
- Hospital experience preferred, but not essential
- Demonstrated Clinical, Leadership, Managerial & Customer Care skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and adeptness in communication across all levels of colleagues
