Location: Galway
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (1 Year, with potential for extension)
Salary: Starting at €36,392 per annum pro rata
Working Hours: Full-time
Reports To: Team Leader / Service Manager
Are you passionate about social justice and committed to making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by homelessness? We are currently seeking a Project Worker to join our client's team in delivering high-quality, person-centred support to clients accessing our homeless services.
Role Summary
As a Project Worker, you will play a central role in supporting individuals and families as they navigate their journey out of homelessness. You will provide practical, emotional and advocacy support to clients, help them access services, and empower them to secure long-term, sustainable housing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support and Engagement:

Process incoming referrals and conduct sensitive, professional needs assessments.

Work closely with clients to source accommodation and support them in transitioning to independent living.

Develop individual care/support plans and provide key working, advocacy and follow-up.

Assist clients in accessing relevant services such as healthcare, welfare, education, and employment.

Promote self-advocacy and empower clients to use their strengths and expertise.

Support clients with daily living needs and respond proactively to challenges.
Operational and Service Delivery:

Contribute to the smooth, day-to-day running of the service in line with organisational policies.

Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all clients.

Engage in team meetings, supervision, and continuous service development initiatives.

Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time using relevant systems (e.g., PASS).

Uphold standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health & safety.

Comply with all safeguarding, child protection, and data protection policies.

Build strong working relationships with local agencies and stakeholders.

Positively represent the service within the wider community.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
Minimum two years’ experience working with vulnerable groups or within homeless services.
-
Recognised third-level qualification (Level 8 or higher) in Social Care or a related field, or CORU registration.

Knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the complex needs of clients.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills.

Confidence managing challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Full, clean driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Desirable:

Experience in advocacy, case management, or interagency collaboration.

Working knowledge of issues such as mental health, addiction, trauma, and poverty.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems such as PASS.
