About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Sonographer to join our client's dynamic team within a new, cutting-edge Women’s Health Centre in Dublin City Centre. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a centre of excellence in women's health by supporting the daily operations of the ultrasound department, delivering patient-centred care, and driving clinical and quality improvements. As a key member of the diagnostic imaging team, you will take responsibility for vetting referrals, managing imaging schedules, reporting equipment issues, and supporting junior staff in a highly collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations while ensuring patient comfort and care.
- Lead the daily running of the scheduled imaging list, including vetting referrals and managing workflow.
- Maintain compliance with SI No. 478 of 2002 and all radiation safety principles (justification, optimisation, ALARA).
- Conduct regular QA checks and escalate equipment issues to the Radiology Services Manager.
- Develop and implement operational protocols, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
- Allocate workloads and provide professional guidance to radiography staff.
- Support performance reviews, mentoring, and the professional development of junior colleagues.
- Participate in training and induction of new team members.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, and support staff.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a self-directed, collaborative approach to team leadership.
- Adhere to policies related to health & safety, infection control, complaints, and incident reporting.
Role Requirements:
- BSc in Radiography (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sonography
- CORU registration (essential)
